Hi!
I’m Rodolfo Prado, a Vancouver-based Concept Artist specializing in Background Art and Prop Design.
My background as a Generalist in Advertising back in Chile gave me the chance to develop my skills from, storyboards to art direction. That experience gave me a solid understanding of the production pipeline and a deep respect for every role in it. I was fortunate to work on exciting projects such as a CG short film about the life of Andre the Giant and an animated music video for John Legend.
My background in Engineering allows me to bring structural logic into my design and to learn efficiently. Research and exploration are my favourite stages of design, it helpes me to understand how things work.
My background in Astronomy gave me a deep notion on the science behind on how light and colour work, which is an amazing combination with the art of how it is perceived.
Today, I continue working across 2D and CG projects, always designing, painting, and learning something new.
